Right on the heels of rebranding SkyDrive as the new and improved OneDrive, Microsoft has announced that Office Web Apps have been renamed as Office Online:
This nicely rounds out Microsoft’s free cloud offering with Outlook.com for email, OneDrive for storage, and the rest of the Office Apps available and usable in your browser of choice. Office 365 still remains the name for the paid subscription, but the web apps have become remarkably full featured and easy to use.
I’m also looking forward to the these apps showing up in the Outlook.com navigation bar – they’re not there yet, but they should show up in the next few days:
Microsoft continues to dominate with a great product offering – I’m not sure why you’d ever need to use something else!
